• SECRETARY'S REPORT:
• Minutes- October minutes were approved with the suggested changes and will post on the website.

• VICE PRESIDENT'S REPORT
• Building Rep Coverage:
• An email was sent out to all members regarding their member coverage.
• If you submitted a name without an email address, use the boces email to get their home emails.
• When contacting a member please cc Tim Brown so he can have proof of you contacting the member.
• CTEC is the only program who has not submitted their names.

 

• TREASURER'S REPORT:
• October budget were read; for further information please see bldg rep.
• GRIEVANCE REPORT:
• No open grievance at the time.
• Conversations with Hilltop staff are being held.
• NEGOTIATIONS REPORT:
• Mary Pat will contact the members of the negotiations committee to begin creating the surveys.
• POLITICAL ACTION REPORT:
• Vote/Cope contributions were deducted.
• If you would like to contribute more, please write a check to Vote/Cope and send it to Kevin.
• There are still members who contribute only $0.50 per check. I will reach out to them and ask if they would increase their contribution.
• The Committee will reach out to the retirees to ask for Vote Cope contributions
• If you have any question regarding vote cope please contact Kevin at DenKev5@aol.com
• CENTRAL LABOR COUNCIL REPORT:
• The meeting was cancelled.
• There were no endorsements for this election.
• The teachers are well represented in the Central Labor Council.
• The construction trade are not well represented.

• TECHNOLOGY REPORT:
• No Report
• ROCKLAND TEACHER CENTER REPORT:
• No Report

• SICK BANK:
• A meeting was held in October and we will have two on Friday. An update with the exact dates will be given in the December meeting.

• HEALTH & SAFETY COMMITTEE:
• Heat issue was fixed at Neary
• Meeting will be held to discuss concerns about smoking and fast driving on campus.
• Protocol for reporting a Health and Safety issue-First let the supervisor know about the situation. If not resolved, let Eric Kurz know via email ekurz76@hotmail.com
• PUBLIC RELATIONS COMMITTEE:
• Take a zip out of breast cancer fundraiser went well, we raised over $1000.00.
• Journal News will write an article about BSA
• Stop and shop-for the relief for Sunday November 11
• Please see Breda to Volunteer
• There will be three types of fundraising
• CTEC, Skills USA and CBI will do a food drive.
• There will be a coat drive
• We will be collecting hats, coats gloves.
• We are currently working with St. Peters to have the opportunity to give the collected items for free.
• End of November
• Toy drive for Rockland families. toys for Rockland
• MEMEBERSHIP REPORT:
• The dues are now being taken out of everyone's paychecks.

• BUILDING REPORTS:
LARSEN/DI MUCCIO/GAON:
• No month meeting,

CASTELLANE/BLECHMAN:
• The meeting with Bill went well
• Thursday November 15 will be held, Kathleen Conti will join Marcelle in the meeting.

CHARLES:
• CBI-Tech
• Worked things out with a member schedule.
• Everything else is ok.

• Mid/High School
• Everything is ok.

• IDT
• Everything is ok.

• Gateway
• Everything is good.

TAYLOR/RIVERA/RYAN:
• Neary
• Ongoing conversations between the building reps and the administrator.
• Issues are being held internally
• Special thanks to Shirley and Patti for their assistance.

• PRESIDENT'S REPORT:
• October 18th- APPR meeting with Chris Conti and Bill Toussaint.
• October 19th and 20th- BOCES Leadership Conference in Albany with Tim Brown
• October 22nd – Represented a BSA member in meeting with Bill Toussaint and Ana Reluzco.
• November 7th – Represented a BSA member in a meeting with Bill Toussaint and Ana Reluzco.
• November 7th – Represented a BSA member in a meeting with Amy Albers.
• School closings
• There is currently no discussion within the state about covering the days for the hurricane. Federal holidays are different from that of the State. Individual States decide on what holidays they will celebrate.
• The State will not allow BOCES to use Veterans Day to make up a snow day.
• Districts will determine what days will be made up and discuss switching days to accommodate their staff members.
• NYSUT endorsements were crossed lines- they chose republicans and democrats. They are looking to find people who are for public education. We are looking for support with APPR.

• OLD BUSINESS
• BOCES will be hosting a Blood Drive on December 3rd to benefit our BSA sister Karen Michelson. Please look for information to follow and sign up. Your support is greatly needed.
• Shirley Clay, Jackie Pardy, Patti Trout and Susan Norfleet attended the SRP conference in Saratoga.
• NEW BUSINESS
• Appointment –
• A motion to appointed Lilybeth Torres to lap team made and the motion passed
• Jamie Fletcher- a motion to join the public relations committee motion passed.
• Information about Vote/Cope is being distributed.
• Distributed buttons for SRP Recognition day for November 20th.
• NYSUT calendars are available for district based staff who did not receive them.
• Please see your building rep for a copy.
• Distributed BOCES Leadership SLO power point presentation to Building Reps to disseminate to members.
