SUSTAINING Fee Structure For 2009-2010
> $20 per year if pension is $25,000 or more and retired for 20 years or less.
> $10 per year if pension is less than $25,000 and retired for 20 years or less.
> No fee if retired 21 years or more.

WHY should you become a FEE PAYING
(SUSTAINING) Member of NYSUT Retiree Council 10?

Everyone becomes a member of a retiree council when they retire from a NYSUT inservice local.  For free! Retiree Council 10 represents the NYSUT and NEA retirees who worked in Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga, and Washington counties. If you become a SUSTAINING member, you will receive a discount on bus trips sponsored by RC10. But, that is just the dessert! The meat and potatoes is the work done by RC10 volunteers to improve the quality of your retirement. They lobby your legislators for you. They represent you at meetings, conferences, and conventions. NYSUT. AFT. NEA. NYSARA. They dig for information. They spread that information. Social Security. Medicare. Pensions. Prescription drugs. Health care. Legislative action. Consumer protection. Senior citizen concerns. The $10.00 or $20.00? Conference expenses. Software. Training. Mailing. Office expenses.  The 10 or 20 bucks you spend on becoming a SUSTAINING member is probably the best money you will spend on yourself all year.
