The Jordan-Elbridge Community
JETA is much more than just the teachers of the Jordan-Elbridge Central School District.
We are also…
parents, neighbors, coaches, taxpayers, volunteers, and much more in this community.
We work here…
because we like it here a lot. We love teaching AND we enjoy so much about this community. A large number of us live in this district or in neighboring ones and support the community in a variety of ways beyond the school and classroom.
We show this…
through the many ways that we are actively involved with the community including, but not limited to:
Dollars for Scholars
Through this program, a large percentage of our members contribute toward the annual giving of scholarships to worthy high school seniors.
Jordan Fall Festival
Each year, JETA members play an instrumental role in this significant and worthwhile community event that is such an important fund raiser for the area. For as long as anyone can remember, we have voluntarily staffed the ticket booth throughout the festival days and nights.
The Jordan-Elbridge Community Band
This is a more recent addition to our repetoire of ways that we are making this a great place. Under the direction of music teacher Ms. Maria Hare, the band has been performing throughout the community. It also includes many staff members playing along with high school students and other community members. Look and listen for this civic organization that endeavors to beautify J-E.
General Involvement with School Organizations
We are also involved in many ways with school/community groups that are so important to both. Groups like the J-E Marching Band, the various sports teams, the Odyssey of the Mind teams. The list, again, is endless.
We apologize to any areas that we have inadvertently left out. Please let us know if you notice any.
